Since it's our honeymoon it's important for us to have good value accommodation, great food (incl. lobster), somewhere that offers romantic dinners or picnics and an outstanding pool and beach (clear safe water). Preferably not as busy or with too many kids. Please help.

  1. Recently went to Likuliku resort in Fiji (no kids allowed).  Can highly recommend it for a honeymoon (get one of the bures on the beach with your own plunge pool.  The food there was absolutely sensational (check it out on trip advisor).  Castaway is a real family resort by the way so that may not be what you are looking for.  If money is no object, I would highly recommend Turtle Island (went there for our honeymoon).

Fiji has lots of 'couple only' islands.  I would stick to these because otherwise there will be heaps of little Aussie ankle-biters running around everywhere!  It is a very safe, friendly place to take kids and the Fijians just love kids.  This makes it a very popular destination for Australian families.

My other piece of advice is to stay away from those big 5-star chain hotels (particularly on Denarau Island).  You will have a much more Fijian/memorable experience out on the islands staying in a bure on the beach.

  3. Try Castaway Island. It's a small Island with just one resort (around 55 bures, I think)

It's beautiful, the food is good, the pool is nice, and the ocean is to die for. It also has a reef right out front, so the snorkeling is amazing.

Check out bure # 37. We thought it had one of the best spots on the beach.

There were very few kids there when we went. However, check out the Australian holidays first, as the resort will mostly be Aussies.
