What is the best GPS?

I am getting a GPS this weekend and i was wondering what is the best GPS system out there for under $500......Thanks

I use a map and a compass, they are about 7 to 10 dollars (us). gps is for them techno geeks Iam typing on my trusty comador 64.

I have a Garmin street pilot 2720 ..while I think the 2720 is no longer available, no doubt they have something similar...I can only speak from my own experience...the Garmin is great...The speech and name pronunciation  are both very good.

I used to carry lots of maps when I traveled...I don't feel the need for any now, just enter the address and follow the directions...Also I feel that the Garmin support is very good.

I would buy it again
