I am asking about an all-in-one system, not the Co-Pilot program which installs on a notebook system.

  1. There is a GPS system that is sold in truck stops that is for trucks, it is large but it goes on the dash. I think it runs around 400 to 700 dollars, I am not sure.

I have had a Tom-Tom, the 300.00 model, it has many good features such as multiple way points. But I found navagation difficult, since I use my qualcomm routing and then make sure my navigator goes the same way. Sometimes it would take an hour to get the tom-tom going the way I needed to go.

I bought a Garmin a few months ago, and it is much simpler, plus it normally goes the way I am routed instead of always sticking to the interstates. The downside is it only has one waypoint you can program in.

If you want to spend the money, the truckstop GPS system would be the best, I haven't heard any reviews though. But it would keep you off of restricted routes, away from low overpasses, etc.. if your a new driver, the extra expense may be worth it since most warning signs for trucks are small and hidden under tree branches.

  2. depends on how much you are looking to spend, how long you plan on using it, etc. I got mine for 100 bucks, its a Tom Tom and i have not gotten lost since I got it. My friend just bought a fancier model Tom Tom for $300 that has bluetooth for your phone, traffic updates, etc, but I dont need that c**p so I figured I would save 200 bucks
