I am planning to go in late September. I would also love to see a Bundesliga game as well.

There are 4 great cities/towns in NORTH WEST Germany. Bremen, Soltau (look up Heide Park), Luneburg and Hamburg.

There are 5 great cities/towns in the WEST. Essen, Gelsenkirchen (Schalke 04, you should watch a game there), Dortmund, Bochum and Duisburg.

The South and East has Berlin, Munich and Dresden. They are not anything special.

There are a number of English Hilton Hotels in Bremen, Nidersachesen, North West Germany. There are also many facilities and there are cheap flights from London Stanstead to Bremen for as little as £5 return if you book in advance. Go to North West Germany; West-Rhine and Nidersachsen.
