For most users a simple HD TV is okay, because they only use the satellite provider. For better sound they usually buy a surround system too.

The best TV is one that is fitted to your size room. Too big of a tv is a waste and sizes over 60" may require more repairs later.

What is the best? Are you trying to get bragging rights or you need a reliable TV? Sony and Samsung are good LCD and some more expensive ones have faster refresh rates which is another option that you may or may not need.

Sony-Bravia! I have owned other tvs and this the best.You will need a Hd reciever and a hd antenna. Then find  a provider that offers a hd package-they install it probably free of chg and may offer upgrades and or epuipment free if you sign a 2yr contract.You may also want to purchase a blue-ray dvd player.This has the best picture.
