  1. I am not able to totally make sure my answer is fit for your situation. It could be useful anyway,it would better you check out yourself here.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  2. Blue Cross is usually the best, but not always the cheapest.

Many of the Blue Cross companies - and other reputable insurers - now allow you to enroll online, and save the 25% agent commission markup.  Health insurance has become a commodity - just look at the choices and buy what you need.  You know better than an agent.   Considering the price and your actual health, you may be able to go without for a while.

You won't be able to buy dental or vision insurance on your own, it's sold to employer groups.  You might find some discount programs, but they just offer coverage at reduced prices.  For vision, unless you have some complicated eye problem (other than just nearsightedness) the optometrists at the chain stores are usually okay.

  3. If you don't have insurance at your job, you need to purchase an individual policy. Most Individual policies do not cover pre-existing conditions unless you have 12 months of credible coverage with less than a 63 day break between your old and new policy.

An individual dental  l plan will only cover cleanings for the first six months.

Not all Individual plans include or offer vision plans.

The best can only be determined by you discussing your needs with a broker and figuring out a plan that gets you the most coverage for the amount you are willing to spend.

Try using yellowpages.com to search for health insurance brokers in your area.

Don't call your auto and home agent they specialize in property and causality insurance. You need someone that specializes in health insurance.

A Broker represents multiple carriers and can help you sort through all the different insurance companies and plan options in your state.

Bill S is not quite correct.

The price is always the same, on-line or from an agent.

Dental is available from most blue cross and many other carriers. Vision is not quite as widespread but you can find it as a discount service.

  4. There is no commission markup using an agent, the premium is exactly the same whether you buy through an agent or buy on-line. The disadvantages of buying on-line are there are hundreds of plans available; how do you know you have the best policy unless you have several days to do nothing but intelligently compare the plans? Also, on-line you won't know if you are out of the height and weight guidelines for that company or what the company may do if you have any pre-existing conditions. For any particular pre-existing condition some companies will rate up, some will rider or exclude a condition for a period of time, some may decline to accept you.

There is no one best policy; you'll need to find the best one for your situation and budget, which an agent that works with all the major companies in your area can help you with. Dental and vision, if available, are options and have additional premium. The agent can guide you there as well.
