What is the best IL university to attend before going off to optometry school?

I am at a community college now and am planning on transferring i want to know what university has he best program for this field. Also i heard optometry has a lot of math componets, i love the profession do i still have a shot if i am weak in the math area?

If you love the profession then even a weakness in math should be able to be overcome.  The best way to get answers on how much math is involved and what is the best university is to contact them.  They are usually more than happy to answer your questions, as you are a prospective student which is good for them.

  3. Optometry schools look at applicants from many, many schools. As long as you're in a respectable 4-year program, they won't care what school it is. They focus more on your GPA, OAT scores, and extra curricular work.  There is a lot of math in optometry school.  As long as you get past the prerequisites with OK grades, and boost your GPA with your other pre-req classes, you should be fine.  They may ask you why you got a lower grade in math in an interview, so you may want to think about an answer to that.
