  1. Check out the Mirsch Masala in Tooting for the best curry.

  2. Muhib on Brick Lane is a personal fav of mine. Inexpensive, fabulous food - bring your own drink so not too much expense there if you fancy a bottle or two with your curry.

  3. in southhall in london is home of indian food where all the street is full with different indian restaurants all with different prices im sure you will find a good indian restaurant there.

  4. lahore on commercial rd.........truly authentic and very cheap!

  5. I would recomend the Zaika Resturnat.  Wide range of cusine from diverse traditional classics to unique dishes with a twist.

  6. Kishmish close to Fulham Broadway is great!

  7. There is a really nice one close to London Kings Cross station that I have used in the past, great value, nice food and service.  However, I cant remember the name of it I am afraid!

  8. Curries R' Us. I know the chef there, Geoffrey Patel. He makes a mean vindaloo, 50p a mug

  9. Durga,Ilford Lane Ilford Essex. The chefs are actually from India for a change plus its always full of Indians always a good sign

  10. You really need to try:

    Karnaphuli Restaurant

    20 Stoke Newington Church Street

    London

    N16

It is fantastic! Well worth a look in.

  11. Hot Stuff in Vauxhall is absolutely brilliant. I'm too lazy to look for the link but you can google it. It is incredibly cheap - believe me it is hard to spend more than a tenner - and that includes their incredible fruit juices. Its quite small but the atmosphere is great and the owners are really friendly. They serve Gujarati food by the way - authentic Gujarati food - just like Ba's (mum's) cooking :)

It is advisable to book a table in advance.

  12. i would say best south indian restaurant in london is Chennai Dosa.,they do have 3 restaturant..,one in East ham the main branch..,others are at Wembley and Croydon., in Eastham thy do have 2 separate restaurants..,one for Non-Vegetarian other is  pure Vegetarian restaturant..,its the best and cheap

  13. It has to be Bengal Quay!!!!!

b coz so many famous celebrities go there!!!!!!!!! i am not joking b coz i went there and when i was in the bathroom apparently Johnny Allen ( Billy Murray) was there!!!! it is in Canary Wharf ( i think)

  14. Absolutely without a doubt Chennai Dosa. There is one in Mile End and one in Croydon that I know of. The place is full of Indians so that gives you a clue as to the authenticity of the food

  15. Jashans on Turnpike Lane is superb, but eat loads of starters!!

They're much better than the mains!

  16. Balti Hut, in Rayners Lane (Harrow).  It sounds a bit naff, looks like a 70s greasy spoon, and is unlicensed, but the food is absolutely superb and very inexpensive - excellent value for money.

  17. Got to agree Chennai Dosa the one I go to is in east ham UNBELIEVABLE very cheap and the food is great can be a bit busy in fact weekends queue gos down the road but like the first guy said ain't no tikka masala there its Sri Lankan real authentic when you see indians eating then you know its the real deal

  18. Still think Tayyabs near whitechapel hospital. Although this may be bangledeshi for true indian try tooting.

  19. Monty's - ealing

  20. Southall, OMG Try any on the main road yum cheap as chips to

  21. Forget Brick Lane! Quality has gone downhill there. For good and cheap Indian restaurants (like Brick Lane used to be) go to Tooting.

Drummond street (near Euston station) offers several places serving cheap and delicious Indian vegatarian food.

  22. Hi

The absolute best Indian restaurant in London for me has to be the Cinnamon Club - The Old Westminster Library

    Great Smith Street

    London

    SW1P 3BU

The Average cost around £40 per head it may not be cheapest- but not really extortionate and definitely worth it. A totally different type of Indian restaurant

  23. Its got to be Tayyab!!

For around £10 you will have fabulous, authentic, great quality food, but be warned the place is heaving all the time with repeat and new customers, although it is totally worth the wait......

    Name: New Tayyab

    Address: 83 Fieldgate Street

    Phone: 020 7247 9543

  24. there is one at  Belsize park,  near the tube station

  26. Gosh girl, London's a big place!

But I know an exquisit place by Ravenscourt Park on Kings Street

Ive forgotten the name but it really is a nice place, next to

    Tesco express

    :)

  27. The Lahore Kebab House. I was taken there by my (Pakistani) flatmate a few years ago and it was excellent - but NB you don't go there for sophisticated surroundings!

  28. i think the best is a place near me called  LA BAGH, it is fab reasonable, good portions and excellent service, its in Sheen on sheen road heading to words Richmond  enjoy

  29. Jai Krishna, Stroud Green Road, vegetarian and fabulous,  Unlicenced so bring your own wine.  Not expensive either

  30. I would highly recommend Tayyabs in Whitechapel.  Fantastically priced and you get so much food.  Everything is grilled behinda counter and you can see everything.  Make sure to go with a group of friends so that you can order a wide variety and share - it's the best way to do it so that eveybody gets to taste everything.

If you're after a takeaway, try Bengal Village in Richmond - the jalfrezis are second to none.

  31. there are loads of award winning restaurants in wembley  which are quite cheap-large asian community in this area and the restauraunts are always packed..people keep going back so they must be good!
