What is the best LCD 52" TV on the market??

Well, you can never go wrong with a Sony 52", any series. They have the best picture of the LCDs, but are very expensive.

Samsung has the brightest screens, based on what I have seen, so if you want bright and sharp, then buy Samsung.

If you want the better all-around screen, then I would definitely go with Sony, they are very very good.

I would immediately say the XBR5 froms Sony, which retails at around $4k.  However, this next month(September), Sony and Samsung will be releasing new models of their televisions.  I have seen the 950 from Samsung and it is awesome.  Look for the XBR7 and XBR8 to be pretty spectacular as well.  I would wait until mid-september to purchase.

On another note, Jo there is no 52" XBR6.  Sears people have no idea what they are talking about.
