Cabal is pretty good, but so is Runescape and WoW.

The best free MORPG is runescape. The best non-free MORPG is WoW (World of Warcraft).

World of warcraft is currently the mostpopular but I think the new Conan one is better. It is newer so has better graphics and they learned from the mistakes of WOW, EQ etc..

I am confident it will soon eclipse WOW in popularity.

As the previous people have stated it depends if you want to pay a monthly fee or not.

If you don't want to pay subs then I would recommend Guild Wars, if you don't mind paying then go for WoW, its the easiest mmo to get to grips with (imho) plus you can get a free 10 day trial (longer if you get a friend to invite you who already plays WoW), there is also Lord of the Rings Online (LotRO) which also has a free trial.

I wouldn't sign up for Age of Conan until they have the teething problems sorted and there is a free trial out there.
