Is there a good one that lasts for a long time (a couple hours)?

Thanks!

  1. "Glyoxide", available OTC, best I've found for any mouth related sore or infection.

  2. Unfortunately, due to the production of saliva in your mouth, most of topical applications gets washed away, however, anbesol or orajel is your best bet for temporary relief.  A good rinse with warm salt water after every meal will help as well.

If you are having major issues with this, I would notify your orthodontist.  Perhaps he/she can make some adjustments to your braces so they aren't causing you so much pain.

  3. Carbosan Gel....available in Europe, not sure about the US....

  4. Yes, try these:

For Mouth Pain due to Canker Sores, Biting or Burns

    • Zilactin-B by Zila Pharmaceuticals

    • OraBase by Colgate

    • Rincinol P.R.N. by John O. Butler

    • Orajel—Mouth Sore Medicine Gel or Discs by Orajel Co.

    • Available over the counter at most pharmacies.

    • If the lesion does not heal in 10-14 days please call for an appointment to have it checked.

The discs would probably last the longest, or the orabase...
