  1. I learned and did my formative years of skiing at Big Boulder. The beginner area is pretty good.

I haven't skied there in almost 10 years, but I can't see how the Jack Frost/Big Boulder team would change anything about how they run their ski schools.

It's sister resort is Jack Frost...also a very good ski school. I have had several friends come up through JF's racing program and go on to be instructors there.

JF is a little bigger and a bit more crowded on weekends. It also only has day skiing. If you have weeknight needs, then I would suggest BB instead.

I don't know much about the other Pocono resorts ski schools except for Sno Mountain. However I also pick JF/BB because of the terrain and the resort layout for beginners.

A lot of the other Pocono resorts I've been to have beginner areas, but they seem to be sharing space or close to other areas where more advanced skiers can ski through or use the same lifts. It's not a big issue, but it does make for less distractions for both the students and the instructors.

    Good Luck!

  2. Jack Frost/Big Bolder- You get to use both resorts for the price of one. BB would be best because it's more low key, JF is aimed for snowboarders and people doing tricks.

You can also try tanglwood. It's a small place. That's where I first learned. It's very mild, and easy for beginners. Even there advance slopes are nothing to scary.

  3. Camelback! They have friendly staff and a great program for children. I learned to ski there. Also, they have more trails, as well as more beginner trails. It's a great mountain. They also have a large shopping mall nearby.
