Question:

What is the best RC Helicopter AND/OR Plane for Under $50 (Each)?

I am debating whether to get a chopper or plane. I figure the plane would go too fast for flying around my house so I'm leaning towards helicopter, but if there is a nice plane that can be controlled easily and won't get lost on me I'll consider it. I want the helicopter to be 3ch, not 2ch, but 4ch is good too. As for the plane, I want it to go straight, up, down, left, right.

Remember, whatever you suggest needs to be under $50, preferably under $55 Shipped. I'd like the battery to last a while and for the helicopter to be able to fly outdoors ok. The plane needs to be easy to control so I could take it around my house and such.

Links please

THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!

  1. There is no helicopter that can fly indoors, fly well outdoors, and cost under $50.

Any heli that is stable enough to fly indoors, cannot handle any appreciable breeze outdoors.  Oh, there are a few, rare absolutely calm evenings where an indoor heli can be used outdoors.  Lots of fun.  but very rare.

You are right to avoid the 2 channel helicopters.  They are junk.  I have purchased many myself (under $20) and our RC club has gone through 30 or so.  They have a 50% failure rate out of the box.

You should read up on the dedicated RC helicopter forum.  Much better information base there.

  2. Well... surely you would no get a decent RC helicopter from what you described at your price. My suggestion is to go with the Air Hogs product line. They are under $55 shipped. They have an Air Hogs Aero Ace that is about $30. Shipped. USD. The plane supposibly could be able to fly indoors and outdoors.  They also dont fly too fast so you can't lose it. This was my first RC aircraft.

Of course there is the Air Hogs Room Raider which is made for indoors only. This is $39.00

    So yea... there you go.

The batteries should last for about 15 minutes and it could be charged from the remote.
