Just moved to Atlanta, Ga and dont know any spots to go to. Would prefer something like Phillips or Captain George's. (None in the Metro Area) They are all buffet style seafood restaurants that range from $25-$40 person. Please Help.

  1. I'm not sure exactly where you are, but there is a GREAT restaurant on the Northside in Alpharetta on Jimmy Carter Blvd. called, "PappaDeaux".  It is seafood, but it is New Orleans seafood.  Kind of creole.  PUT IN A RESERVATION. The wait is forever, and it is kind of upscale.  It's not a buffet but delicious food!

  2. If you live on the northside...near Marietta, try "Ray's on the River."  If you live near downtown, try "Ray's Downtown" on Peachtree...just down the street from the Hard Rock Cafe.

We've eaten at both several time and have enjoyed it.

  3. When I lived in Atlanta I found McKinnons in Buckhead to be one of the few places that actually had good seafood.  To be honest Atlanta is NOT a culinary cultural Mecca though there are some decent places.  Just remember that fresh seafood must be flown in daily or it's iffy, and they do that at McKinnons.
