What is the best acne solution out there??

Im 16 years old and i have acne that is not so bad but sometimes i breakout and it gets worst...help!!

First, I use pHisoderm foaming facial wash (pH balances). This will clean and moisturize your face and tone your skin.

Then, use Proactiv, Cetaphil moisturizer (for minor acne), or Cera Ve moisturizer

Daily wash with mild soap and water. Seriously. Virtually all the other things on the market are simply there to make money. Consider cutting down on junk/sweet/fatty foods as well and boost your zinc intake.

My mom took me to a dermatologist and in the waiting room was this book that the doc got from the internet. The dr said it was ok to take it and explained to me the 4 step process to getting rid of acne and just doing a routine to keep the pimple from coming back.

So with 2 weeks to go before school me and my girlfriends used the steps in the book and we started school with no friggin pimple! It rocked, we were probably the only girls with clean looking faces.

There are a couple of options.  Acne is caused by bacteria so it can be treated with medicine, but over the counter topical medications can help.

If you have large pustules when you have your outbreak you might be a candidate for a medicine called accutane (isotretinoin).  But this will only cure one type of acne.

Otherwise, you can take an antibiotic (usually tetracycline) which should control your outbreaks.

If you just want to use over the counter medicines then try to use some salicylic acid and retinal.

've been using Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap for 10 years. My doctor recommended it for clearing up facial acne, and it has kept the acne away ever since. It's the only soap I will use on my face. I don't know what I'd do without it. Truly a wonderful product!

well there is no way to find out if a over the counter acne treatment will work for you unless you try them all. i think the best way is to see a dermatologist and he/she will prescribe a strong benzoyl peroxide or a Benzix treatment. that is what my sister uses. before she started using it, her face looked like the red version of the rocky mountains. then her face became much MUCH clearer. what it does is it relieves inflamed areas and minimizes their size.
