What is the best adhesive to attach polystyrene insulation to a painted masonry wall?

  1. check out the adhesive and caulking display at the local Home Depot or other major store there are specific adhesives for that purpose.If you use the wrong one you can melt the polystyrene and/or cause harmful fumes to be released from the materials read the label before use


  2. I think you might need to contact the supplier as I know for sure that some adhesive properties react with the polystyrene and dissolve it! (on a smaller scale I know that UHU does), the supplier should definitely be able to advise you especially if it is in conjunction with the masonry paint as this will reject most water/liquid based solvents.

  3. super glue or a hot glue gun

  4. Tapcon's, glue won't hold long.

  5. liquid nails or some other construction adhesive .

    Gorilla glue and that type of adhesive might melt your project.
