  1. I was 10, its only leg hair, I say get a wired razor and do it for her, but it isn't anything 'wrong'.  If it makes her feel more comfortable with her friends and with herself then by all means let her do it.  Its a crucial age self esteem wise, I wouldn't hinder that over a little leg hair :)  If you felt more comfortable you could tell her that you would feel better if she only shave during competition time until she is a bit older.

Edit:  Better yet, get her some nair!  That way you don't have to worry about her cutting herself which may be the scariest part of it :)

  2. this is such a good ? to ask because I myself am going through this one as we speak as well.I have a 9 1/2 yr old daughter fixin to go into thee 4th grade and she wants to shave her legs cause well she is hairy.I love her to pieces but she is.So I made a deal with her that she can't "shave" but we will go get Nair that way there is no chance of cutting her legs.So I say that use Nair and be sure to tell her that even though you are allowing her to use this doesn't mean that you are comfortable with it or think that she needs it cause she is beautiful as she is.Good luck!!

  3. Cutting her legs? Do you not have safety razors in the US or something?

If she needs to get rid of the hair on her legs, for goodness sake introduce her to shaving with a cheap disposable razor instead of teaching her to use expensive chemicals on her young skin!

  4. i htink i was around 10, but if all her friends are doing it, and she really wants to have it done, let her do it, its not a big deal, only do the part under the knee though, i wouldnt see any problems with it.

  5. 8 is too young to start a girl shaving.  I started shaving my legs when I got my period.  Age 11.

  6. I was about 12 when my mom let me shave my legs. However, even then, in the 90s, that was a bit late. These "milestones" get earlier and earlier. I personally think 8 is too young, but if she really is the only one not allowed maybe it is time.

  7. if it makes her feel more comfortable and gives her esteem a boost, go for it. Nair is good to use and so is Veet. Veet is a bladeless razor with a hair removal cream. You cannot cut yourself with it and it last for 2 weeks and doesn't sting like Nair does.

  8. everybodys different i started shaving when i was 11 but my daughter started when she was 9 as long as she knows shes got you there for support and help there's no problem its going to help with her confidence levels so go for it if its what she wants don't let people make the decisions for you shes your daughter everyone has opinions there like **** hole everyones got one but your her mum only you will know whats right over the years Ive had alot of criticism from friends and family over the way i bring up y daughter but over the last year Ive watched her develop into a fabulous cleaver beautiful young lady so I'm doing something right just remember mum knows best good luck x

a great razor to use is one of those ones with the soap attached to the razor from boots or even pound shops and they come in funky colours great for the kids even ive got my self one lol

  9. I was 8, I had dark hair on my legs which made it worse. But my mom let me shave because she understood, plus I felt better about myself. Only below the knee

  10. When the hair starts showing, then it is time. It is different for every girl. But if nothing is there, then don't let her.

  11. Dont make her be the only one with hairy legs lol... Give her some Nair, its the easier and less painful
