  1. Hi

Where in NZ? The reason I ask is I would almost certainly say Air NZ as it simply has nicer more comfortable seats, more leg room and generally a better snack selection. It also has free alcohol :)

However, if you have an opportunity to fly on Emirates then you may want to chose them. They fly from Melbourne to Auckland (it is essentially, the end of a longer flight but it is also a way for Emirates to secure a market share for those passengers heading to Asia, ME, Europe).

Qantas are good but I don’t like their lack of legroom and seat comfort. Air NZ wins out.

Virgin – apart from the lack of free food and drinks, I actually really like Virgin. Good price. But, they don’t fly direct to NZ from Melbourne at this stage (need to go via Brisbane or Sydney).

Jetstar – don’t bother unless it is super super cheap.

The one other thing i would suggest, if you are flying to Wellington then, for the most part, Air NZ does morning MEL-WLG flights (arrives approx 2:30pm NZST) whereas Qantas does the evening flights (arriving around midnight). Sometimes they change.

  2. From Melbourne fly with Singapore Airline to Singapore

Then from Singapore fly with Singapore Airline to New Zealand.

    It's definitely the BEST :D.

  3. Virgin Blue!! I've flown with virgin blue twice and it has been excellent. The first time was when i was young, about 7, the service was really good. My ears were really sore and I was crying so the stuardess gave me some gum and it felt so much better. Its the little things like that that I like. The most recent was this year and once again they were really polite and helpful.

As for jetstar, I flew with them to and from New Zealand in September last year and the flight over was alright but we had to wait 8 hours for our plane on the way back. They had to fly a plane over from Sydney. It was horrible.

  4. Qantas

  5. Go air new zealand, the people on Qantas are so rude.

  6. Depends if you want luxury or good price.

If cheap price is what you're after check out Virgin Blue.

The earlier you book, the cheaper the flight.

  7. Best in what way?? Cheapest? Best seats? Nice staff?

  8. I am a proud Australian through and through and with that comes a rivalry with the Kiwis BUT as far as flying goes it is Air New Zealand all the way over Qantas. Us Aussies love the flying kangaroo but too much cost cutting and too many breakdowns are really putting us off. Go Air New Zealand.
