Here is a full proof way to protect your car from getting stolen. Take the wire from the ignition to the distributor cap off and pocket that ****. Or hide it in the car, and if someone tries to start it they will OF COURSE have no luck driving the car because the connection between the ignition and the engine is GONE! They will have to be carrying one of those wires around w/ them, and what are the chances of THAT, haha probably a little better now that I've posted this......but still pretty slim. And chances are if they can't drive the car, their not about to pop the hood and check out what's up, not unless they are a total badass or something. ha ha

I would recommend a Python or Viper alarm.  They are both made by DEI, and are essentially the same product.  They offer great features and options including remote start, as well as excellent quality.  Prestige is also a great alarm, made by Audiovox.  Both offer lifetime warranties when installed by a professional.  I would suggest having it installed at a major retailer in a larger city.  These installers usually, but not always, have much more experience and training than locally owned shops or shops in smaller areas.  Expect to pay about $200-400 depending on what other features you're interested in for a quality product and quality installation.  Your car's key has a transponder in it that tells the vehicles computer to allow the vehicle to start...what this means to you is that you will have spend some money on additional parts in order to have a remote start installed.  If you're willing to give up a spare key that starts the vehicle, this part should cost no more than $50.  If you're not, or you don't have a spare, it will cost a little more.  You should also find out what kind of warranty the shop offers on their work before allowing them to touch the car.  If they don't offer a lifetime labor warranty, keep shopping.

the problem is not only getting the best alarm  

the most important part of the alarm is to get a good installer ,clifford install at the flea market is going to be junk

find a good installer, go look at the shop make sure is clean

a messy shop means that the wires under your dash are going to be that way
