  1. check this page, im sure this will help you choose which cruise to take.

  2. Try Carnival. They cater to young families and have babysitting on board. My husband and I went off season and we're in our early 50's and were considered the "kids".

  3. Celebrity Cruises is one of the best cruise lines you can take for a family of your size.  Few things can bring a family together like a Celebrity cruise. Aboard Celebrity, children experience the time of their lives. The Celebrity X-Club Youth Program offers a full compliment of age-specific activities and entertainment all year round. Children can expand their world through the exploration of science and nature or participate in a full menu of activities including Talent Shows, Treasure Hunts, Dinner Parties,* the Late-Night Slumber Party* and more. Special areas of the ship are even set aside as "children only," such as the Shipmates Fun Factory, Teen Centers and Pools. While the ship is docked, guests have the option of leaving their children on-board for an Afternoon Get-Together* and lots of other exciting activities in the Fun Factory.

Guests can feel secure leaving their children in Celebrity's caring hands. A close ratio of professionally trained counselors to children helps to keep an intimate, more personal approach to each child's cruise experience.

  4. I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska a few years ago. I enjoyed it but unfortunately we took an 11 year old nephew and he was bored to tears. This was our first experience on a cruise ship and we'd always heard that these ships were full of activities for everyone but it wasn't so. The sight seeing was great for me but most kids aren't into sight seeing. The food was great but our nephew mostly ate frozen pizza by the frozen (unheated) pool. The weather, even in summer, is cold and windy when you're cruising so you're mostly confined indoors. I wouldn't repeat.

Also, we'd always heard that the great thing about cruises are that there's no extra expenses. This is totally false. You can certainly sit and eat unlimited amounts of food for no extra cost but EVERYTHING else costs mucho extra $$. If I had it to do over again I would take a road trip on the Alaska Highway.
