  1. Brain and common sense.

United States has the knowledge and resources to exploit any natural energy source with minimal impact on ecosystem and generate benefits for actual and  next generations.

  2. At present there are many options, but we don't know the full impact of all the new available technologies. When oil was first used as a fuel there was little understanding on the environmental effects which we all know about now.

I would say wind to be the best alternative at present. As long as the world keeps spinning, there will be wind. There is some concern regarding birds killed by the blades, but I don't think it's too significant a factor.

Solar is great, but we don't have the technology to use it independently. The panels are not efficient, they require huge surface areas to produce the required electricity.

Biofuels are a good option, but not when it comes to using food based commodities because this is apparently driving up the cost of those commodities, such as corn and rice. Biofules (specifically methane) derived from waste (landfill, waste water, compost...) are a good option, but there is some concern regarding burning waste... I'm not sure what it is though.

Nuclear is probably the cleanest choice at present and most viable, but I feel that we'll soon find many complications derived from the use of nuclear power plants. The water can't be the same after bombarding it with radioactive substance, and it will affect the surrounding environment, it just seems like common sense. But till we know for sure... Nuclear aint so bad.

In my opinion, we need to figure out how to use less energy with the same economic output in conjunction with an energy source that can return to it's initial state without any negative byproducts after it is processed.

  3. hydro-electric is the cleanest form of producing large amounts of electric.

  4. Wind and technology...

  5. Wind turbines. Its estimated by 2030 that 30% of all the power in the US will come from wind turbines. Thats enough power to shut down all nuclear power plants in the US.

Also, if they build more of these turbines in rual mountanous areas or offshore there is no harm to wildlife. Even the ones that kill birds are not really an issue. Birds flying into the side of buildings or the jet engines of an airplane typically  kill more birds then wind turbines.

  6. nuclear,,,coal to gas, natural gas LP gas, all are cheaper then alt.like solar, geo, wind,,some day we will switch but no in your lifetime.if we get 25% alt in 20/30 years it will be a miracle

  7. Is It Possible to Run Your Car on Water? New Viagra pill for your car! With hydrogen on demand technology, automobiles can be powered with water!Few decades ago people laughed when some scientist claimed that solar can be converted into electric power and can be used as alternative energy! Now who is laughing?http://car-run-on-water-reviews.blogspot...

  8. As soon as government figures out a way to tax us on out wind and solar usage, wind and solar will be viable alternative energy sources.

Don't wait. You can convert your home to solar power today. Invest your money where your heart is. Make the jump today, don't wait for the government to help you. Do it yourself.

  9. If we can find a way to turn human fecal matter into fuel, we'd be rollin in it...Literally.

  10. Solar power.  It is free after an initial investment.  It will pay for itself in two or three years.  Wind turbines are good in some of the windy areas.  There are really so many options available that the only thing holding us back is fear of being killed by hit men hired by George W. Bush and all his greedy oil baron buddies.
