I'm buying them for parties and I don't know a lot about home audio. Any information is helpful

  1. Get an Onkyo TX-8222 receiver and you should have a good system for not a lot of money.  The only other consideration would be the Dayton Audio amplifier normally sold at Parts Express.  See links below...

  2. Almost any amp with power of 50 watts or more would be fine.  These speakers are high efficiency (92 db sensitivity means they require half the power of more common 89 db rated speakers).

If it were me I'd head off to my friendly local used equipment store (or eBay) and look for a name brand used stereo amp ... probably less than $100.

If you intend to use a turntable to do the DJ thing, look for one with a phono input.

For parties you don't need great specs or sensitive equipment you care much about so a used amp is a good choice. I've got two old amps I bought cheap to use in my workshop and in the exercise area. I paid less than $75 each  and they work fine. And if they die ... I'm not out much.

    Hope this helps.
