The best answer for this is that it really depends on your house. You can get poly tanks,  steel tanks, slim line tanks or "bag" tanks that can sit under your house.

My tip is to find a local plumber that has experience in water tanks and get their advice - it really will depend on your house.

Also, your local council will have a lot of information about tanks. Nearly all councils have a web site these days with info on it.

i dont know which would be the cheapest but why would you buy a tank to water the garden and wash a car? why not use a garden hose with ur well???
