What is the best and cheapest way to get from the Amtrak station in Grand Rapids to the Holiday Inn Express in Grand Rapids which is near the airport?

The Amtrak station is at:

431 Wealthy Street SW

near Market and Wealthy Streets SW

Grand Rapids, MI 49503

The Holiday Inn Express:

5401 28th Street Ct SE

Grand Rapids, MI 49546

it is about 4 miles from the airport

basically I am looking for public transportation like bus or train, I don't mind getting as close as possible and then walking a mile or two or taking a taxi, but I would rather not take a taxi the whole way as it can get expensive.

Bus service does not stretch as far as the Holiday Inn. So...

Southbound bus 8 will get you started. It stops at the Amtrak location. On this webpage, you'll find the Amtrak stop at Market & Wealthy. Just select the schedule to find the times.

Take Bus 8 southbound to 28th Street. Transfer to eastbound Bus 28 at 28th Street. Take Bus 28 all the way to the end, at the terminal. Check the Bus 28 schedule in this link.

Grab a cab for the last mile from the terminal to the Holiday Inn, located right next to the junction of 28th Street and Interstate 96.
