What is the best and cheapest way to upgrade my alternator?

Could the average person do it themselves or does it require a professional? Wheres a good place to find a high output alternator?

The cheapest way is to go to a starter/ alternator repair shop and have them rebuild/upgrade your stock alternator ,but make sure you get what ever amperage you need at idle not at an upper rpm range or it want do you any good.

you save tons of battery

unless your pushing like tons of watt power then get another alt :P
