  1. Best place to live is Henderson or Green Valley. Worse place is North Las Vegas to much crime.

  2. Taxi cab and shuttle drivers say the very worst place is the area between the Stratosphere and the 15 interstate North to Down town. Avoid this at all cost.

  3. I'm going to disagree about North Las Vegas being the worst.  There are plenty of very nice neighborhoods in North Las Vegas.  Aliante being one on them.

I would say that two areas are worse, the area known as "West Vegas" which is around D Street and Lake Mead Blvd.  And the area known as "crack alley" which is the Swenson are between Flamingo and DI.

The best parts are all over.  Green Valley, Southern Highlands, Rhodes Ranch, Pecccole Ranch, the Lakes, Summerlin, the area around Ft. Apache and Charleston known as Queensridge.  Spanish Trails and the area where the Sultan of Brunei has his mansion, Spanish Hills.  I hear his house has 14 k plumbing fixtures.  That's gotta be real nice.

  4. If you want to be closer to the strip then i would say the South West--is the best region. If  you want something really affordably priced with a yard (more suburban) then I would say you would like the north east/ north. If you want a place with beautiful views and mostly new everything I would suggest the North West. And if you are looking for good school systems and more affluence I would say the South East (and a small portion of the South West. In general that is the breakdown and it is all based on how close you are to the strip.

I live in the South West and love it. We are close to everything!!!! (great malls, the strip, and not too far away from the mountains which means great views)...I would avoid the cusp of the North all together. (Between Sahara and Charleston from Durango to Maryland Parkway) It is incredibly crowded and the traffic is always terrible no matter what time of day. Hope this helps and if you have more questions feel free to email me.

  5. Summerlin is the place to live in Vegas.  Other nice places are the Green Valley and Aliante areas. Unfortunately, these places tend to be expensive.  Nice, reasonably priced areas are Piccole Ranch, and the western area of Vegas, close to Summerlin.   The worse areas are MLK and Carey and any of the lettered streets.
