  1. I get asked this all the time.  The best antenna is one that works for you!  No kidding.  Everybody's situation is different, that's why they make different styles of antennas.  You may have to try a few to get one that makes your converter box happy.

Here are a few of my favorites:

*2 bay bow tie (I take one of these with me on demonstrations)

    *  TERK 5 - this is a set top antenna with an amp.

    * a standard roof mounted VHF/UHF TV antenna.

http:\\www.antennaweb.org has a lot of good information, too.

    I hope this helps.

  2. Richard is correct that there is no need for a NEW antenna...and the power will increase somewhat.

But if you NEED a new antenna, I always suggest the BOWTIE antenna...those have the best antenna design for the best GAIN of any TV antenna out there....

But everybody went to loop antennas with power amplifiers built in.....

So that's all you might get....I heard Zenith/LG makes a Silver "something or other" that everybody has been happy with.....

That doesn't surprise me it came from them,  h**l, they built the Transoceanic radio back in the 50's....so they know their antennas.

  3. Most aerials will work perfectly! I use a really old one, its just a simple loop of coat hanger wire style one and it works perfectly, though sometimes I have to move it about a little.

Also the signal strength should increase when the switchover happens so it should work even better.
