For Anti-Spyware, I would go for Spyware Terminter (free) along with it's free Crawler toolbar, which tells you whether a site is virus free or not. Also, it will warn you whether the site has any inappropriate content. But just get more than 1 anti-spyware, incase one of them misses out something.

For Anti-Virus, I'd go for either AVG or Avast, both are great and free. Make sure that you don't get any anti-viruses that would collide with each other (one saying that the other anti-virus is a virus) otherwise you'll be in a complete mess.

I'd also recommend you getting Zone Alarm Firewall, since it's free and probably the best firewall out in the market.

Spybot is the best. I have Spybot on my home PC.
