  1. Kaspersky, hands down.

  2. Kaspersky or ESET(NOD32)

But the thing is there is no such thing as an AV that protects you from yourself, nothing can protect a computer from human stupidity, you have to work with it to keep your computer safe. Since it is your brother causing problems, I suggest you don't let him use your computer unless he stops doing stupid things.

And if you let him use it make sure his account is a limited account so he can't install and in many cases download things, also parental control software with a setting of not allowing downloads for him would be good( in vista it comes with the computer).

Spyware - Windows Defender is best.

  4. Computer viruses are small software programs that are designed to spread from one computer to another and to interfere with computer operation. A virus might corrupt or delete data on your computer, use your e-mail program to spread itself to other computers, or even erase everything on your hard disk. Spyware is software that sends your personal information to a third party without your permission or knowledge. This can include information about Web sites you visit or something more sensitive like your user name and password.Try  http://computer-probs.blogspot.com/  to get  solution for all problems.

  5. iolo is the best. I've tried all kinds and I can guarantee iolo is the best and most dependable.

    Cheers friend.

  6. Norton and McCafee do a great job in preventing and eliminating viruses, but unfortunately do a poor job with spyware.  It is best to have a great firewall/anti-virus program to go along with a top flight anti spyware program.  There are lots of good ones you can see some reviews here:

And more importantly I recommend practicing safer web surfing habits.  You need to practice greater care ESPECIALLY with social networking websites.  Those seem to be the biggest culprits these days in spreading spyware and malware.

Download, install and run a full scan with Malwarebytes

Run a full scan with Micro Trend House Call

After the scans, restart the PC and update your anti-virus, remember to only have one anti-virus installed on your PC
