Get one of these anti-virus listed below.All these anti-virus work very well,they are the leaders in the current market.

Ones I've personally used:

AVG - Free and decent enough.

McAfee - Not free and is a memory hog.

Norton - Same as McAfee.

Symantec Corporate 10.2 - Not free but light on memory usage. Used on our office PCs. Saw it online recently for $20 (Provantage.com I think - google shopping). Yes, Symantec = Norton, but Corporate is different than the Home versions.

Ones I haven't used:

NOD32 - Not free but I hear a lot of good things about it.

Kaspersky - Not free but they say its great also.

AVAST! - Free like AVG...

I've never really had much trouble with viruses.  Right now my home PC doesn't even have any AV on it.  You can get by without altogether if you mind what you're doing online. Besides, I can't see spending $50 or $60 a year for an AV solution.

So to answer your question, I guess I'd have three answers.

If you're looking for free: AVG is good.

If you're looking to save some money: Symantec Corporate Single user.

If you're looking to drop some money: NOD32 or Kaspersky (tie).
