Hello, I'm going to Sao Paulo in July and I am looking for a hotel in a safe area. Most important is that it is nearby public transport and that it is clean. My buget is about US$60-US$80 per night.

What are good areas/ neighboorhoods to stay?

And does anybody have recomendations for a hotel?

Thanx in advance!

  1. In my opinion, as far away from it as possible.

  2. The best area to stay is near to Avenida Paulista or Berrini or Faria Lima/Morumbi/Nações Unidas - anyone of these places are very good!

I suggest the blue tree towers hotel

Blue Tree Paulista the rate is around 90 dolares per night but worth every penny! best breakfast ever, and they have a hot pool - amazing! I love to stay there!! and you have very good restaurants near by (like SPOT) and shoppings around!

  3. I lived in the Caixingui/Morumbi area for a while - though that is away from the centro and a bit pricy.  When I returned, I stayed in the Centro - it has access to all the metro lines, Avenida Paulista, museums, shopping, restaurants, bus lines.  I stayed at the Hilton and paid around $100 p/night.  There are other hotels near the centro area that run cheaper.

I might suggest contacting a travel agent and have them get you some info - it was very helpful when I went.

  4. I live near MASP (Museum of Art of São Paulo) and I recommend: Stay at Av Paulista area! (Jardins or Cerqueira César) It's the best place in the city to dinner out, to walk and it's very easy to catch a public transport like subway.

Instead Berrini or Faria Lima/Morumbi/Nações Unidas, that doesn't have subway nearby at laest 4 ou 3 miles..Trust me!

  5. Stay in Av. Paulista Area...there are plenty of public transport and it´s safe and clean (financial district)

The Ibis Hotel (Accor chain) is nice and clean and around US$60 and US$80 per night.
