In my opinion skip the entree and go for the desert WOW. As for the meal itself before it I am not a huge fan of the Melting Pot. Go somewhere else first.

Cheese: Wisconsin Cheese Trio

Salad: Mushroom (only if you like lots of mushrooms, though!)

Chocolate: Ying/Yang or White Chocolate Amaretto.

Though there is nothing on the menu I've ever complained about!  ;-)

I can't recommend anything, I've been twice, and both times the food was sub par and for the most part tasteless.

For dessert I loved the ying-yang.  I went with one of my girlfriends and we had dessert and martinis there - was so good!

I went another time for a meal and had the trio (I don't remember the salad).  Also very good.
