  1. Whatever agrees with the baby's system. I know parents who swear by Nestle Goodstart but then I know people who'd babies hated it. Depends on the baby. I use Similac Advance with DHA and ARA and have never had any problems with it.

I love how every formula feeding question seems to be an invitation for breastfeeding fanatics to spew their bu*llshit.

  2. Try the generic brands first.  They are just as nutritional and cost less than half as much.

  3. She obviously cant give her breastmilk!!! that first person is such a dummy!! thats why people hate women who breastfeed cause of people like her!! but the best formula i heard is the one you baby can tolerate better. my boyfriends doctor said goat milk is really good. but the omega is only for eye coordination and stuff so just as long as your baby is ok with it, any good start is good. i gave my daughter goodstart soy at the beginning when i was learning how to breastfeed her and i exclusively breastfeed now (shes 6 months) but goodstart was good for my baby.any goodstart is good. you dont have to change your babys formula just keep her with the one shes used to.

  4. "She obviously cant give her breastmilk!!! that first person is such a dummy!! thats why people hate women who breastfeed cause of people like her!!"  I don't get that.  You hate all breastfeeding women because a few of them can be fanatical?  ANYONE can be fanatical, breastfeeding or not...as a matter of fact YOU sound fanatical.

  5. My daughter is on Isomil Soy formula, and we've had good results. no fussing, minimal spit up. so far so good, but every baby is different! I don't think omegas really mean anything special. If the formula you are using right now is OK, it's really best not to switch.

  6. I know u dont want to hear it but the BEST? Breast milk. Why dont u try it.

Omega 3 is the best BUT I heard Omega 6 is very very bad for you. Dont know. Id look into it.

  7. When my daughter wasnt gaining weight from breastfeeding, the hospital gave us a small can of Similac, we used it and my daughter was very gassy so we switched her to Enfamil which she was allergic too so we went with Good Start and it worked great. She is now 1 and on "big girl milk". If you go to Good Starts website (which I have done a million times) they will give details about each of their formulas. I think that you should keep her on 1 formula because switching can make babies constipated.  Good luck!

  8. I enjoyed Similac Advanced (and so did my daughter). But, when I started getting WIC for the baby, thay gave me Enfamil, which is ok too.

  9. They feed enfamil with DHA in the hospital. I thought it was pretty good. Although Im exclusively breastfeeding right now.

  10. "whats the does the omega 3 and 6 do and why is it better then the regular."

It's not better. Don't fall for advertising.

"Formula Supplements.  In the randomized trial, one group received a standard formula, another group received a formula that had been supplemented with DHA from fish oil, and a third group received a formula supplemented with both DHA and arachidonic acid from an egg phospholipid.

Outcome Measures.  Mental and Motor Scales of the Bayley Scales of Infant Development at 12 months of age; vocabulary and gesture communication scores from the MacArthur Communicative Development Inventories at 14 months of age.

Results.  There were no statistically significant differences for either the Bayley Mental Scale or the Bayley Motor Scale, neither when the analysis was restricted to the three randomized formula groups nor when the analysis included all four groups. However, the DHA formula group had significantly lower scores on two of the MacArthur scales: the DHA group scored lower than the nonrandomized human milk comparison group on the Vocabulary Comprehension Scale, and the DHA group scored lower than the randomized control formula group on the Vocabulary Production Scale. Moreover, additional analyses both in the formula groups and in the human milk comparison group found significant negative correlations between DHA levels and vocabulary outcomes.

Conclusion.  We believe that additional research should be undertaken before the introduction of these supplements into standard infant formulas."

  11. the best formula is whatever works for her.  I don't like all this omega stuff.  None of us had it when we were babies and we all turned out fine.  if using both works for her it shouldn't hurt at all.  Just keep an eye on her poops and her mood.  Also talk to her ped.  they can offer the best advice.

  12. Battle Ship is classic naval game.

  13. My daughter is breastfed and if i ever supplement her..i choose the similac....

She really likes it and it never has given her an upset stomach....

Try that and if it doesnt work your young one, just try another one.

Or even ask your doctor for some advice.

I think its opinion which determines the best formula, everybody experiences different with formula's....

Congrats for breastfeeding so long :)

  14. Breastmilk.  Why stop at 6 months?  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends doing it for a year.  Plus, it saves a ton of money and the trouble of trying to pick out the best formula.

  15. Everyone she didn't ask about BREASTMILK she asked about formula! Get off it already. It is funny the people going strongly about breastmilk are the same people that feed their toddlers McDonald's and pepsi!
