I'm doing a surgical technique training video and I need advice on background room color. The room we got is very small & not lit very well. Plus, the structures in the cadaveric limb we are using need to be accentuated. Extra lights are probably not an option b/c of all the equipment we have. One of the few options we have is that the room can be painted per our request(s). The room is going to be painted regardless because the paint is peeling, so specifically what color should we choose? Any other advice?

thx

  1. I would say, white. It will make the room brighter and it will make the people watching this clip, focus on what is happening, rather than all distractions around it.

  2. white is best, not distracting and will bounce what little light there is around.  A white wall is also just the dab for setting up the cameras white balance too, so that the other colours all come out correct.

  3. Paint the room white. The light will reflect off the white walls making the room seem whiter with the same amount of white.
