What is the best bait and rigging to use for flounder fishing?

We usually use live spot and a thin long strip of squid, but we've had little luck getting any flounders around the pilings and other underwater structures this year. We're fishing the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, along the Hampton Roads Bridge tunnel islands, etc. If you have rigging advice, please, be as specific as possible. I'm not very advanced in fishing and am trying to learn. Thanks!

  1. thats a pretty good setup.here in N.C. lots of us use live finger mullet.you use what the natural bait is of your location.always remember if you feel like a flounder has hit the bait or you feel like your line is stuck, while reeling it in, count to 10 and then set the hook By the way most of the time if your not catching them, they are not there. Always move and try other places..
