  1. redfish go for almost anything... I use shrimp.

  2. Live/dead: live or dead shrimp free lined, cut mullet on the bottom, half a crab on the bottom. Guys here in Texas swear by live croaker and live/dead ballyhoo.  All of these work great and will not fail you.

Artificial: nothing beats a big Red pounding a topwater bait ,I prefer the Rapala Skitter Walk or Heddon Super Spook; a gold spoon, spinner bait, and Norton Sand Eel. All of these will produce fish.

    Good luck!

  3. Live or fresh dead shrimp work the best on the TX. and La. coastlines. Other baits used are fingerling mullet, small croaker, small crab, and cut bait. The biggest bull red I ever caught was on a 12in. speckled trout near Southwest Pass. I had just caught the speck on a popping cork with live shrimp. I wanted to re-adjust my bobber stopper with the weight of the speck on the bobber so I threw it out and BAM, 35lb red. I know your not supposed to use any game fish for bait, I was really just adjusting my bobber stopper. 40yr exp.

  4. crankbait

  5. i would use crab works every time i've caught over 400 redfish using crab
