What is the best bait to use for fishing?

All fish you need different baits but i know that most medium

sized Rapala work good for bass and sometimes Northern

Pike. Then leaches work good for Walleye. And for panfish

worms work great.

Well that doen not narrow anything down at all. Well I will assume you mean what bait catches the most fish. Wax worms catch quite a bit. Nightcrawlers catch the most in my opinion. If you want the big fish you need these five main things:

1: Brains/ Knowledge , Which I am almost 100 percent sure you have! =)

2: Night Crawlers because fish love them. you cant go wrong with a big juicy nightcrawler.

3: A durable fishing rod such as Shakespeare or Zebco.

4: A medium size hook because it is not nice to use a large hook when shore fishing (My opinion!!!) because you can hook all the little fish through their heads, gills , and so on. Besides all it takes is about half an inch of extra hook to catch the big one if you know what you are doing.

5:Last but not least..... have extra artificial bait. If you run out of those nightcrawlers and you dont have money and don't want to quit yet what do you do? You go artificial. The artificial still can catch that big one you really need!

You really need to be more specific. Fresh water? Saltwater? Lures, cut baits or live? Too many to list here for the different species of fish found world wide.~good luck catchin'.
