What is the best bait to use for fresh water red drum?

In Texas there's a lake that holds fresh water red drum, I think it's Calaveras but I can't re-call at the moment. We used jumbo shiners and small tilapia around the bluffs to catch them. Bass fishermen also got their hands full with a red drum while using diving plugs and top water lures while hunting bass. As for best bait, I'll go with the Jumbo shiners and tilapia.~good luck catchin'.

Crawfish or mussels seem to be pretty good baits to use. I would try to use whatever local food is around to feed on. Here's a good website on freshwater drum. http://www.flyfishohio.com/Freshwater%20...   40yr exp
