What is the best banks in California in general?

The reason for that is tha I was with wells fargo since I was little and I am through with them for good. they charged me 35 dollars wirth of overdraft fees. 3 of them. I never been like that up until now. Which bank with work with you instead against you?

~~Washington Mutual is the best as far as working with you on bounced check charges-I understand you are allowed 1 or 2 bounced checks with out the overdraft fees. I've been with Bank Of America forever, and if I s***w up-I pay, that is the way it is. Otherwise I like them, there efficient, never have problems, love the convenient locations, and have been easy to work with when it came to getting a loan.~~

I hate Washington Mutual- I had them for about 10 years before finally pulling all my money out and going to Bank of the West.  I couldn't be happier.  No hidden fees.  No 18 year old, pimple-faced bank reps who haven't graduated high school yet, no lines out the door, no stupid Woo-Hoo commercials.  The tellers at Bank of the West know my name when I walk in, if there are three people in line, someone hurries over and opens a new window, and they have a drive through. Only drawback... not open on Saturdays, but have extended hours through the week.
