  1. In Chicago, try Oak st, North Ave, or Hollywood. Lots of sand and pretty clean.


  2. "best" may mean something different to everyone.  Try looking on http://michigan.org under BeachTowns on the lower right hand side of the screen. This should give you information about many areas.

    My personal choices,  Sterns City Park in Ludington for the location to town, Ludington State Park (10 miles of beach, many areas secluded)

    and North Pier in Manistee  also less used.
