What is the best beach in Massachusetts?

I live in Boston and want to go to a beach this Labor Day weekend, but not sure where to go. Any recommendations?

...I'm thinking of going to Crane Beach in Ipswich or Provincetown? Which one is better?

Hampton Beach in NH is awesome... and it's only about an hour drive from downtown, maybe less, depending on traffic.  Also, Nantasket Beach in Hull is super fun.  It's kind of old school, and there is a boardwalk with an arcade and a carousel and stuff...  Good restaurants too.  Hampton is bugger though, and there is more to do as far as nightlife goes.
