What is the best bedding for a parakeet?

my hamster died because i put the wrong bedding in, and i dont want that to happen again, so what kind of "bedding" so to speak should i use for a parakeet?

  1. Well you can use all sorts of stuff heres a list:

    1. newspaper

    2. white printer paper. ( make sure it has no ink on it )

    3. construction paper

    4. or you can go to the store and ask what there is.


  2. corncob bedding is great. I use it for all my birds, large and small. it absorbs very well, and you can use it sort of like cat litter: you can just empty it all, or scoop out the certain areas that are dirtier. It's very safe and is good even if there is not a bottom grate on the cage.

  4. Well, I really don't recommend bedding as it's way harder to clean.

    I really recommend newspaper.

    The paper is naturally complicated with all those pictures and words that you don't really see the bird's droppings and it makes for a cleaner look.

    Hun, newspaper is the way to go!

    I use it for my Budgie, Kiwi.
