What is the best beginner paintball gun for a good price. (not cheap but not expensive)?

i was going to look into a spyder so thanks, i want something that can get close to 25 bps

Since you're looking into Spyder, the Spyder RSX can suppposedly do 30 bps, but for the price, you'd be better off with a smart parts ion (just upgrade the board) or a proto matrix rail (I'd recommend these 2 over ANY spyder gun). the proto slg is also one to consider. other spyders that are that fast are the electra, VS3, & VS2.  make sure that you have a hopper that can keep up (like a halo b or vlocity jr) and a compressed air tank (as opposed to CO2) in order to achieve high rates of fire successfully.

I had the same question when i started in paintball... I would go with a Smart Parts Ion, its highly customizable and its only 30 bucks more than a vibe. Also its one of the most popular guns out there so getting upgrades for it isnt that hard, it has  been on the market for quite some time so you know its a good bet.

there are a few different types of paintball guns for beginners, such as the tippmann 98 modles, the smart parts vibe, some spyders (which i dont recomend because the don't opperate as well as tippmanns and they aren't as derible). these guns will shoot fine with co2. those are $140 - $180. then there are some more expensive guns, like the tippmann a5, (which can also run on co2) the proto slg, and the proto matrix rail (both of the protos run on hpa or lph -hpa is much better). these guns are $200 - $275. if you are going to buy a gun below $300, then i would only buy a proto, which is made by dye, and a tippmann. the vibe is the only smart parts gun that i would recomend because of the price.  you can watch great video reviews of all of those guns i mentioned at:

Best paintball gun for the price?

*Well, first off, ions($165) are ok, but when you get better you have to strip it clean, upgrade the board, barrel, feedneck, and trigger, costing you wayyyyy too much.

*Tippmanns($139) are good but when you start playing speed ball-ish games you just cant do going 5bps. You could get a egrip($99) and if your getting a tippmann i guess you want a flatline($79)which totals to about $317 not good =/

*I like the Proto slg($200), why? Because it comes with a awesome board, it can get over 1500 shots on a 68/4500 tank overall the best gun for its price. But the thing is that it needs a HPA tank which is like $160, is around $360

not bad for the gun, can compete against a shocker($600)

*But if you really can't afford the HPA tank but want something like the SLG get a spyder electra 08($200) don't let anyone tell you the 08 electras suck, because they don't. Not as good as the slg but still kick *** and runs on co2 and HPA.

The slg is the lowest costing gun that can go 25bps without a new board so if you can get a hpa tank do it. its a really nice gun for 200,.
