What is the best bike frame material for heavy riders?

  2. It depends what you mean by heavy.

    Almost any frame will take even heavy riders (say 300 lbs) easily. The real issue re frame material is the feel of the bike and cost.

    In general aluminum is relatively inexpensive but stiff and jarring. Carbon fibre or titanium is more shock absorbent, but also more expensive. But many steel frames are very comfortable too (the main disadvantage of steel is it can rust) and not as expensive as titanium or a good carbon frame.

    If money isn't an issue I'd suggest titanium.

  3. What do you weigh? What type of riding will you be doing? (off road or on the road) Do you want a bike with speeds or just a cruiser? Also how tall are you? Take these questions to your local bike store (not department stores). Someone can help & advise you.

  4. Titanium and Carbon Fiber composite...if that is out of the question...I believe a company in Upper Angola Africa still make cast Iron bicycle frames Porky
