Scrabble is my favorite game, but I think Mancala may be the best boardgame ever. It is an ancient game of strategy that has been found in many cultures. It is easy to learn, easy to play, and a game moves along quickly and can be finished in a few minutes. It is suitable for all ages - I play it with my grandkids. It is deceptively simple, yet amazingly complex. If you don't have a game you can make one from an empty egg carton and 36 or 48 pebbles. Try it and you will see why it has withstood the test of time.
