In the case of the inflateable, would it have a fiberglass hull or an aluminum hull? I'm thinking of a good boat for 4 divers and a driver. Cheap is better but suitability for the task is most important. What are the advantages / disadvantages?

  1. Aluminum! The premise here is not just the ease of getting in and out of the boat, but the resonating effect when you need to signal other divers to surface. My kids instructor removed all inflatables due to this reason. Safety first!

  2. Fiberglass

  3. If noone stays in the boat, fiberglass will be a good choice, but he is right when he says that aluminum helps when you want to signal people to return to the boat.
