  1. I'd also recommend starting with something really basic, like the Dummies or Idiot's guides to Personal Finance.  It helps explain a lot of concepts and terms that you will read about in Suze Orman.

Either of her "Road to Wealth" or "Nine Steps" would be fine - I'd suggest reading both, so which one you start with really doesn't matter.

David Bach and David Ramsey are also good authors, and offer much of the same advice as Suze.  Sometimes you just need to hear the same thing expressed in different ways, or repeated a few time, for it to click.

  2. I recommend "Young, Fabulous and Broke".  It's specifically targeted to people who have everything going for them, but are bogged down in debt.

  3. Hi there.  I'm a fan of Suze's too.  I gained a lot from the 9 Steps to Financial Freedom.  I also have The Road to Wealth.  She likely has an updated edition of this personal finance handbook.  I recommend buying both as The Road to Wealth in an informative guide to the various financial instruments, taxes and banking.  Happy Reading!
