  1. For a pet rabbit, this is by far the best, easiest to read and understand book out there: http://www.amazon.com/House-Rabbit-Handb...

Best book on health care: http://www.amazon.com/Rabbit-Health-21st...

If you are wanting breeding information, I'd start with the ARBA's publications: http://www.arba.net/

  2. Here's two really good rabbit books:

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...

    http://www.amazon.com/Rabbit-Health-21st...

  3. The House Rabbit Handbook:

    http://www.rabbit.org/links/sections/boo...

Rabbits for Dummies is not bad either.

  4. I don't know of any good books on Lionheads.   They have a working standard for some color varieties but they are still unrecognized by the ARBA.  I think that most of the good information can be found online or from a reputable breeder that actively shows their rabbits (for exhibition only) at ARBA santioned shows.  Check out the national breed club (see below).

Beware that there are UNreputable breeders out there very willing to help you and your money part ways.  Beware of anyone selling this breed as coming from Grand Champion lines (there are no Grand Champion Lionheads ANYWHERE) or "Lion Lops" or any other crosses (they are mutt rabbits).  A reasonable price to pay is anywhere from $10 - $75...no more.

As far as books about rabbits in general...the two I recommend are "Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits" by Bob Bennet if you are 14 or older and "Your Rabbit - A Kid's Guide to Raising and Showing" by Nancy Searle if you're a kid.  The Storey's Guide is a must for any rabbit owner IMO.  Read that through and you won't be asking questions on here anymore.   lol.

Add'l:  You may be interested in becoming a member of the ARBA (you don't have to actually own a rabbit).  For the cost of membership  you'll recieve the ARBA's official handbook Raising Better Rabbits and Cavies (guinea pigs) and a free subscription to Domestic Rabbits magazine.  The good articles in the magazine alone is worth the cost of membership.  One of their regular articles is "Rabbits 101" for newbies.
