What is the best bow for target shooting and hunting?

hoyt is the best bow made in my opinion, but bowtect shoots faster, mattews is smoother pulling back.

Most every late model bow is great- but the top 3 are the Matthews, the bow-tech and the Hoyt. All super great bows!

I worked in a bow store for years. I spent lots of time tuning the 2 cam bows. But to tell the truth, if you stick with Hoyt, Mathews and Bow Tech, you cant go wrong. Get the bow that fits your draw as well as your wallet. I suggest a solo cam bow. Tuning your bow sucks. My Mathews has killed 7 white tail bucks in the last 4 years. I have yet to do a dame thing but wax the string, and practice.

As far as one bow for target and hunting, well that's a tough one. Hunting bows can be fast, but are made to be light, compact and quiet. Target bows are built for speed, with little regard for size, and or string noise.

I for years shot 3-D shoots with my hunting bow, and hunting set up. I never did great, because my bow puts me at a disadvantage. I shoot the 3-d's for practice.

For the record, I shoot a Mathews Ovation. It is  bigger bow, so it is very forgiving. It is fast, but not the fastest. It is smooth and quiet.

they are all so close it is about personal preferance. I am shooting a Bowtech this year.
