What is the best brand and model washing machine on the market today?

My 4 year old (or so) Kenmore Calypso (around $1,000) is dead and irreparable! Nice. Consumer Reports loved it at the time. I'd like to get it right this time. What's the best?

You could buy Samsung from Lowes that costs $1500.00 from link below.  This washer has great rating but this  does not mean it will not break,  as any brand can break just like new cars.  We bought Roper brand, large capacity washer, from Lowes two or three years ago and it has given excellent service to date, it costs $399.00.  They delivered, setup, add hauled old washer, away.  I think the free delivery was part of sale, they had going on at the time.
